Welcome to the October beauty notes, green gang.
The news is news.
Because the “beauty” part in BEAUTYCALYPSE is not only about skincare but essentially about the virtue of beauty, I decided for the NEWS format to include not just beauty and wellbeing, but also fair fashion from Trusted Brands. Maybe I’ll include home, furniture and food as well at some point — please tell me what you think (this also gives you a raffle entry)!
Is F-Beauty a thing?
Because it should be. After all, this beautiful country way up north is known for innovational social and environmental practices; and its nature is abundant with antioxidant-rich plants.
Inari is an organic skincare brand from and made in Finland, offering high-performance, unisex synergetic natural skincare.
The latest range addition is the Rejuvenating Eye Cream, made with hyaluronic acid and 20+ botanical extracts chosen for their synergetic action, among which chaga mushroom (collagen synthesis booster with beta-glucanes), bilberry leaf (rich in antioxidants), and oat oil (rich in omega 6 and vitamin E).

Busy times — testing 10 serums
CertClean is a Canada-based certification system for safer skincare in North America. Rather than aiming at organic or natural ingredients or labels, the certification tracks (and prohibits) 1400+ harmful ingredients.
For the 2019 CertClean’s Clean Beauty Awards, I’m evaluating and testing a selection of ten serums for sensitive skin, pre-mature skin and mature skin — by brands from the US, Australia, and Korea.
Stay tuned for the upcoming brand reveal and the subsequent review!
Fancy a new hair colour but unsure about doing henna at home?
In this case, Berlin’s new and 100% natural hair dye bar located in the Khadi flagship (opened Mid-September 2019), is calling your name. Khadi is known for their Ayurvedic, holistic range of hair care, hair dyes and body care.
The new store in Mitte offers the complete product range, and the nice lounge area in the back of the boutique is designed for “work in progress” henna heads to relax and to wait — dyeing your hair with natural henna blends can take hours.
You can book different options for your hair colour experience: DIY (with service and guidance), hair dye party or individual colouring and coaching.
Enriched with soothing plant extracts — such as fennel, chamomile, rose—, Farfalla’s latest range addition is baby care, formulated #fromparents2parents style: a tummy oil, a breathing balm and a body cream (not pictured) with calming properties.

Healthy scalp = healthy hair!
Rahua, palo santo and hemp oils (with just a touch of refreshing mint) and extracts of green tea, rosemary and raspberry, among others, were blended into a lightweight emulsion designed specifically to balance the scalp microbiome, to strengthen the roots, and to soothe dry skin — meet Rahua Founder’s Blend.
// There will be also an interview with co-founder Anna Ayers, recorded the day of the Founder’s Blend Berlin launch, so stay tuned for that, as well as for an in-depth Founder’s Blend review! //
A wonderful gift idea (for yourself or for a dear friend) is another novelty, the brand new Customizable Daily Hair Care Kit. Designed for a mix and match experience, it’s a cute box filled with 8 22 ml sizes of: Classic Shampoo and Conditioner, Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner, Voluminous Shampoo and Conditioner and Color Full Shampoo and Conditioner.
Green luxury underwear and day wear
Wolford’s autumn-winter collection 2019 goes beyond seamless and comfy shapewear and beautiful tights. Offering a broad selection of very modern and colourful statement lingerie (think deep sea shimmering fish colours, lots of fancy fishnet patterns and glistening snake prints) as well as day wear.
// Wolford manufactures in Austria and partially in Croatia; their Bregenz-based site at lake Constance follows the strictest environmental regulations. Read more about the brand’s eco certifications and cradle 2 cradle endeavour here. //
All the fabulous colours aside — my favourite pieces are, of course, pitch black.
Left to right: forming dress, snake print body, “poison dart” net and lace patterned shirt.

Warm, spicy colours meet plaid and fantasy patterns
BEAUTYCALYPSE readers remember this German fair fashion brand from several articles, trade fair reviews, and probably also from this trench coat outfit. The designer does have a penchant for warm, flattering colours and for surprisingly wearable, bold prints.
Cosy, flattering, fair, comfy (dresses got pockets!) — what more can you ask for?

Science x skincare x eco-savvy
The new Austrian fair fashion brand Armargentum deploys an innovative fabric designed by the renowned Lenzing AG. Made of cotton and lyocell, the fabric is proven to have beneficial properties for even sensitive skin, and to offer measurable UVA and UVB protection.
Neutral colours, sleek styles with a twist — Armargentum pieces are easy to mix and match and blend seamlessly into virtually any woman’s wardrobe.
Aside from the (washable) novelty fabric, Armargentum use rainforest-friendly tagua (“vegetarian ivory”) for buttons. To encourage a more eco-savvy style, each order comes packaged plastic-free and with a handful of soap nuts.

Dream, swim and undress in (eco) style
Founded in 2010 by three friends from Denmark, Underprotection is a real ethical alternative for us lingerie, fine loungewear and eco-fair swimwear lovers.
My fave styles from the summer 2019 collection: playful polka dot jumpsuit in a vibrant yellow; emerald green PJs with a slightly retro vibe.
Underprotection winter 2019 collection offers sexy devoré styles, gorgeous muted reds and blues, and a selection of dark animal prints. Thrown in: lots of transparent loungewear, and gorgeous lace.
