Kjaer Weis: Mascara Re-Packaging
An Extra Mile for the Lengthening Mascara
Kjaer Weis are changing the packaging of their bestselling and award-winning mascara for the greater good: the new packaging will help save substantial amounts of production waste. Unfortunately, the old refills will not work with this new packaging, even though we hear they’ve tried to make it work. To help loyal fans transition, the US online store offers $10 off your Lengthening Mascara Compact purchase (check out the KW online store for details).
In Europe, Amazingy have another sweet deal for Lengthening Mascara Fans, valid until 1st of May: send in an email with a photo of your Kjaer Weis mascara and receive a discount code to order the new mascara for the price of the refill.
Check out Amazingy Instagram for full deets.
NB: the old aluminium case is fully recyclable — please dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way, depending on your local waste management regulations.

Farfalla: The Power of Immortelle
Sit tight: four new stellar tightening skincare products infused with gentle immortelle
The gentle healing power of immortelle (Helichrysum) is well-known in the Mediterranean, its home region. The plant was dubbed “immortal” due to its bright yellow flowers’ unique ability of remaining fresh even long after being picked.
With its healing, strengthening and metabolically stimulating properties, the plant harbours many health benefits of which some already are and others are to be scientifically backed.
Farfalla have whipped up four skincare products infused with immortelle and other powerful plant extracts, designed to tighten the skin and to relax the tissues: the new Anti-Ageing Deluxe line consists of a serum, an overnight fluid, a moisturiser and a cooling eye contour serum (my favourite). Sticking to the new rebranding theme, the eco-friendly packaging — cardboard boxes with a polyethylen bottom or lid, depending how you turn it — is adorned with a butterfly illustration that’s unique to the line and reminiscent of a cute box of artisanal sweets.
Dr. Hauschka — Packaging Evolution
The Shower Cream previously known as Lemon Lemongrass Body Wash sports a brand new, part PCR dress
Time to bid farewell to the Dr. Hauschka shower range.
No panic — please welcome the new Shower Cream.
If its invigorating smell reminds you of something, that’s by design: we’re facing the trusted bestseller Lemon Lemongrass Vitalising Body Wash. The repackaged product is, for now, the only Shower Cream in the Dr. Hauschka range. The tube presents itself in a brand new material mix as well, made from a combination of post consumer and recycleable plastic.

Mlle Agathe: New Serum, New Sunscreen
Snail mucin — yay or nay?
Had you asked me a couple months ago, I would have been team NAY when it comes to skincare based on snail mucin. I am aware of this beauty trend, it’s been huge in Chile, in Korea and in Russia, and I’m aware of the potential benefits of this very ingredient. Touted as the gentlest alternative possible to retinoids and glycolic acid, the snail mucin is known to be hydrating and promoting healing processes as well – what’s not to glow, so to speak.
However, I found it rather questionnable how some companies were harvesting the slime. Not that I’m that much of a snail lover myself, for example, I would rather not keep one as a pet, but I disapprove of hurting living beings for the sake of something as vain as a face cream.
So when a French company, cleverly called Mlle Agathe (= mademoiselle Agathe), exhibited at this year’s Vivaness and got in touch with me a couple weeks prior, explaining that their snail farm is absolutely different, I was intrigued. The French are known for loving their escargots, and I mean, “pass me the hors d’oeuvres”-loving them. Mlle Agathe mission however is to offer the ultimate snail mucin quality. Species-appropriate and certified organic farming of the Helix Aspersa Maxima on the farm located in the beautiful Pays de la Loire region is part of this mission. The snail mucin is obtained by hand during a controlled and certified process that has a strong focus for the well-being of the animals; a process inspected by Ecocert specialists twice a year.
The range’s novelties this year include a powerful serum containing 93% of snail mucin filtrate and two waterproof, non-sticky sunscreen products SPF50 and SPF50+ with 22% of snail mucin filtrate, both available in tinted and in plain versions. The entire range is certified with Cosmos Organic.

Goldenglow: More Glow
Anti-ageing for sensitive skin — made in Germany
The German natural skincare brand Goldenglow are having a momentum this year. After the launch of their two rich moisturisers, the Vivaness trade fair marked the launch of three new stellar skincare products for skin that’s irritated by the environmental influence, stress and dehydration that can occur throughout the year (right now it’s the winter-spring transition and allergies; it’s the heat and the sun and the chlorine/sea water in summer, the cold air in autumn, and air con in winter — we’re really good to our skin, aren’t we?).
The novelties include a cleansing gel, an alcohol-free toner, and a hydration booster serum; all with pleasantly reduced formulations. Witch Hazel & Almond Cleansing Gel is soothing and softning with witch hazel, almond oil and honey. The alcohol-free Shea & Witch Hazel Toner restores the skin’s pH balance and is suitable for all skin types. Finally, the Shea & Hyaluronic Booster is an ideal serum for skin that’s irritated or prone to inflammations and dry in the same time. Packed with both high and low molecular hyaluronic acid and shea butter, it doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight or dry like many hyaluronic serums do, makeing it a one step hydration.

Beauty Kubes: Plastic-Free Zero Waste
Now Avail In Germany!
The clever kubes for your zero-waste, zero-plastic lifestyle
Designed by the award-winning British natural beauty company Eve of St. Agnes, the Beauty Kubes are a skincare product that’s entirely free from plastic. The reformulated versions are free from conflict palm oil as well.
Thanks to the ultra gentle, environmentally friendly cleansing agents, the formulation is as kind to the skin and hair as it is to the planet.
What I like in particular, is the size of the cubes: rather than serving you one huge bar that sits in your shower and looks more and more weird every day, each Beauty Kubes box is filled with 27 small single-use cubes.
The mini cube-shaped body wash and shampoo/conditioner range that makes any zero-waste enthusiast’s heart sing is now available in Germany and in Europe via the new online shop Blanda Beauty.
