More Than Fine!
Absolutely Smashing — FINE Body Serum Range & Natural Perfume
If the opening image struck you as insanely gorgeous, wait until you experience this goodness in person. Berlin-based organic beauty brand Fine — known and renowned for their efficient, utra-clean, vegan friendly, made-in-Germany organic deodorant concoctions — have just launched a new range of unisex, scented Body Serums and Perfume Oils.
The oils (above) are based off Fine’s signature deodorant fragrances which feature only essential oils: the spicy woody Vetiver Geranium and the woody fresh Cedar Bergamot. The perfume oils are packaged in roll-on vials (10 ml, €36), which makes them perfectly unisex in appearance as well; even though I would argue there’s nothing unmanly in rose gold and copper cardboard either.
The Body Serums, available in 50 and 200 ml bottles as well as as a set of three 50 ml bottles, are two-phase formulas. The oil phase enriched with potent essential oils and the hydrating hyaluronic acid and algae extract-based serum need a good dance party prior to application. The Body Serums are colour-coded by fragrance and aromatherapeutic benefit they are designed to provide: Peace (Giant Fir and Tonka) is a deep midnight blue, Energy (Manuka and Kunzea) is a deep red, and finally, Focus (Douglas Fir and Grapefruit) is a signal yellow. The long-term test will follow, but the fragrance test yields all the points and more for very well-balanced olfactory impressions and an ultra pleasant application sensation.
AER Scents Now and Next

Celebrating the developer darling/ co-working hot spot of the city, Berlin-based natural perfume house AER have introduced their first scented product. The 100% natural, hand-blended, hand-poured St. Oberholz candle contains notes of Citrus, Cacao, Vetyver, Coffee, Cardamom, Cedar, Myrrh and Guaiac Wood. Mood-lifting, delicious, and grounding, basically all the IT and freelance crowd needs. The wax is vegetable, the candle is 100% botanical, vegan-friendly and free from synthetics.
100 ml, €40. At St. Oberholz and online.
But the excitement doesn’t end just yet.
Soon AER are launching two new fragrances that are so stunning and so beautiful, Yours Truly is actually tongue-tied to describe them properly without giving away too much. Oh the pain of knowing and not telling!
Suffice to say that the two new fabulous juices will be all you need in summer, or to feel summer on wintery days. One scent is crystal-clear and yet alluringly, delightfully warm (Accord No. 5 White Pepper), and the other is precious and intense with carnal florals and warm with spices (Accord No. 6 Ylang Ylang). Just watch this space.

Farfalla’s Recipe Card: Detox
Own Your Oil Pulling Routine
The irony of having to remain sustainable while catering to the market need of constantly whipping up and launching novelty products was not lost on Farfalla. Starting last year, the brand’s redesign and the introduction of the new management generation have also brought about new ways of how the brand presents itself to the consumers. The lovingly designed recipe cards provide useful tips on how to blend different existing Farfalla products in order to create a more individual, “spa at home”-like experience. We’re loving the oil pulling recipe card: blend the pure Sesame Oil with a few drops of the Lemon essential oil and voila, your home-made oil pulling oil is waiting for you.
Denttabs: An Extra Step
New, Fully Biodegradable Packaging
You’ve stumbled across this Berlin-based dental hygiene changemaker quite a few times here on BC if you’ve been a loyal reader: the Denttabs “free from” approach shows in leaving out anything harsh, anything questionnable, and even water, thus creating a modern, travel-friendly, health-friendly and Earth-friendly alternative to toothpaste. (Read here to see a detailed comparison of some of the cleanest toothbrushes and toothpastes, Denttabs incuded)
However, the packaging has been an issue, and they’ve tried to go several routes, from offering bulk stations in local organic supermarkets to trying a refill system. This past December, a project that’s been looooong in the making has come to fruition yielding fully degradable and ultra-lightweight new packaging. Congratulations to Denttabs for their stubbornness!
