A German organic skincare brand to watch + subscribers giveaway!
Brand loyalty and a certain minimalistic approach to consumption don’t eliminate the experience of stumbling across real gems, whether established but flying under the radar or new to the market. I’ve shared a few of such finds in the latest Trusted Brands’ Beauty News article, and the BEAUTYCALYPSE Brand to Watch Series offers another great format to meet interesting new and innovative brands from different industries.
Today we’re talking to Sarah Kramer, founder of Goldenglow, a new skincare brand from Germany.
Goldenglow products are ICADA certified, and based on high quality natural and organic cold pressed oils and butters. The splendid, unisex gold-on-black packaging is a true show-stopper (and of course violet glass is great to protect the natural formulas).
Goldenglow products are affordable, beautifully packaged, finely scented certified organic skincare treasures for anyone who loves a natural product that gets results.
From skin to hair care and to pregnancy/ motherhood products, everyone is sure to find their piece of “golden glow”. My personal favourites: Shea & Kukui Nut Butter and the Shea & Argan Lotion.

Q: The organic and natural cosmetics market is booming – and an ever-growing number of consumers can choose to their liking from a vast selection of ethical, sustainable brands, affordable to luxury, minimalistic to opulent, lab-made or small batch. Where does Goldenglow fit in?
A: Users who appreciate handmade natural cosmetics made from select natural and certified ingredients as well as puristic formulas have come to the right place with us.
We call Goldenglow a range of skin-nourishing all-rounders. High quality natural cosmetics with a light yet nourishing texture, quickly absorbed, and leaving the skin feeling fresh, healthy and with that “golden glow”.
Q: Is there a cornerstone product?
A: The answer to this question is our all-rounder shea butter.
Having suffered for years from food intolerances combined with allergic reactions to all kinds of skincare products, a sustainable lifestyle and a holistic diet have lead me to the decision of making skincare that my skin would tolerate. Because shea butter is known for great tolerability and has both skin-protecting and soothing benefits, this should become the basis of Goldenglow.
Q: The range is quite versatile indeed. Fancy sharing some of your personal favourite product “hacks” or application tips?
A: I totally agree – natural skincare and natural raw materials are really versatile in general. I’m at awe every time at the results of our natural products. That’s why I like to use our products all over the body, since most of them weren’t formulated restrictively for one specific area of the body.
I like to use our unscented Lip Balm as a cuticle balm or to soothe particularly dry areas, such as the elbows.
A real sleeper is to me the Lemon & Orange Oil. The cold-pressed oils make for an excellent body oil. When my skin is particularly dry or irritated, I like to apply it as a serum after removing my make-up.
Q: You chose to certify Goldenglow with ICADA (International Cosmetic and Device Association) label. Why?
A: I knew right from the start that I needed an authentic label to match our products and our company philosophy. We believe that ICADA as the European European service and lobby association for small and medium-sized companies is perfect for us. The label matches or idea of high quality natural skincare, and we feel we’re in good hands there.
Q: In the recent time, many new green beauty founders have decided to keep their products affordable – for example Telluride Glow (USA), Double Happiness (Canada), Lovely Day (Germany). Your products have a luxurious packaging but an affordable pricing. Is this by design or will you more towards luxury/ Spa cosmetics over the course of time?
A: To me it was vital to create a brand that’s modern, clean and elegant – quality, design, concept and result coming together – and has moderate pricing. Our idea is to offer our customers an affordable product range that has natural, high quality formulations and an elegant design without lowering their sights.
Our goal is to stay in this segment.
Q: And finally our last question: what do you love the most about being an ethical entrepreneur?
A: I’m proud and grateful for the opportunity to combine my family’s knowledge about cosmetics and my demand for high standards in terms of ingredients and aesthetics by having created Goldenglow, so I can be a part of sustainable consumerism without giving up style and design.
I’m especially happy when we manage to win over and to wow a conventional cosmetics consumer products. Nature gives us the gift of most precious ingredients that are the best for our skin’s needs.
Right now, the range includes thirteen products – a soap bar, four oil serums, five butters, one lotion, the Allrounder cream and the Coconut Balm:
Except for the unscented Shea Butter and Coconut Balm, the products impart a fine, subtly sweet citrusy smell that hits home balancing the invigorating and the relaxing notes. The textures are lightweight, quite as you expect from a modern skincare, and of course versatile.
Goldenglow oil serums come in luxurious dropper bottles, and the butters, cream and lotion in glass jars. The samples are packaged in mini bottles and jars from the same materials. Extra bonus points for the sustainable shipment packaging (below).
And the best part: to share the love for authentic natural skincare, we’ve teamed up with Goldenglow to give away one SHEA & ARGAN LOTION + one SHEA & KUKUI NUT BUTTER to one lucky BEAUTYCALYPSE reader!
