Eco-Friendly, Eco-Fair: Swimwear
After its introduction in 2016, this practical one-pager comparing brands by eco-ethical criteria rather than styles is back in Summer 2017 by popular demand.

(!) Because there will be updates throughout the year, here’s where the latest version of the guide lives.
Brands we’ve evaluated and listed:
+ Swimwear brands that have some certification labels such as GOTS, Fairwear etc.
+ Swimwear brands that work with Econyl and similar, European-made fibre from recycled marine waste
Brands we haven’t listed:
– Swimwear brands with unsubstantial sustainability claims
– Swimwear brands with an overall promising philosophy who were not willing to share precise steps to sustainability
– Large scale or non-specialised otherwise genuinely eco-fair fashion brands for whom swimwear is a small part of the collection
– Possibly some absolutely amazing, authentic brands… with poor SEO 🙈
Disclaimer (of sorts):
Even though we put a lot of time and research into compiling this list, we do not make claims for it to be comprehensive. Are you a sustainable swimwear brand we haven’t discovered yet? You’re more than welcome to get in touch!
