My Guest Post for One of a Mind Magazine

Does hiking in the Himalayas sound like a bucket-list-worthy adventure to you? Discover a mysterious, dreamy village called Kalap in my One of a Mind article.

kalap-himalayas-anand-sankarI’m a rare guest on other people’s blogs or magazines. But there is something too beautiful about One of a Mind. Created by the wonderful folks over at ABURYOne of a Mind is a brand new online magazine celebrating the beauty and diversity of crafts, culture and people. Or, as they put it: “One of a kind” stories with an “of one mind” attitude. The country they set to explore first is India. And it so happens that I knew a great Indian story! A great green destination for outdoorsy, adventurous people to be precise!hiking-trekking-himalayasImage: hiking in the Himalayas

Now, personally preferring CO2-friendlier European travels, I don’t normally blog about exotic destinations – my Seven Green Escapes Wishlist article is an exception to this rule and aims at showing to my lovely readers (who come from all over the world! What a wonderful honour!) some true green pearls located on each continent. A destination in India? A place I never personally visited? That doesn’t assort well with today’s version of BEAUTYCALYPSE.village-kalap-eco-tourism-indiaImage: the remote village of Kalap

But I truly, deeply wanted to shine a light on that exceptional eco travel project and the guy who started it, and so I was very happy to become a One of a Mind contributor with my piece Raw & Untouched: Exceptional Journey to KALAP. So if you’re looking for authentic trekking/ hiking trail packages or for camping destinations in the Himalayas – the village of Kalap is located in the Govind Pashu Vihar National Park and Sanctuary – here you will find itineraries for beginners and seasoned trekkers alike. I wish you the most enjoyable read 🙂
