Christmas Gift Ideas: Skincare

Isn’t it nice to keep December upbeat, relaxed, cosy and light? That’s why I suggest taking care of gifts now – and entering all of my November giveaways 😉

I decided to start with skincare presents simply because skincare is such a tricky gift category!

So let me share with you some of my best tips for blunder-free giving; do make sure to read until the end for your chance to win a super luxurious skincare multitasker.

Skincare Presents Made Easy

My rule #1 is never give skincare presents to people whom you wouldn’t normally hug.
Means: family and friends make the perfect target group for your skincare gifts; coworkers, bosses, assistants, clients, acquaintances – not so much. Exceptions prove the rule though, and your favourite doctor might well appreciate an organic hand sanitiser just like your coworker might fancy a chic sheet mask she mentioned to you as you went to your holiday in Asia.

Rule #2 choose products that you know have an impressive impact. Don’t play the safe card and pick run-of-the-mill ones.

Finally, rule #3 is choose wisely for people’s needs! Let me show you by the example of my favourite skincare gifts:

A clever way to experience and to discover a brand’s range are beauty advent calendars, here is one I fancy in particular, by Susanne Kaufmann: it’s festive, contains 24 travel-friendly, fabulous products from shampoos to bath oils to masks to tea blends. Selling at €90, it certainly is a luxurious present for a loved one.
Available from the Susanne Kaufmann online shop.

Konjac sponges are an adorable gift idea for the home spa and come in a variety of shapes and colours (small pads, sponges, body sponges naturally coloured pink, red, anthracite, green – you name it – using plant extracts and clays). It’s ideal for everybody, no matter the age, no matter what really.
I discovered a small series of beautifully packaged mini Konjac sponges (€9.95) at Amazingy.

A new sheriff eco-ethical, vegan and efficient clean deodorant is in town! Fine, a Berlin-based company, presents the eponymous deodorant, gorgeously packaged in a brown glass jar, suitable for women and men. And while a deodorant sounds like a weird present idea, it actually is not – so many people I know complain that natural deodorants never work for them.
Approx. €24, at Savue Beauty.

I have raved about the less is more Rose Serum already, and it really is a lovely gift that promises shiny hair, and who wouldn’t love that!?
€29.95, Amazingy.

Alpine Pure Oil is so amazing, I wrote about the company – Telluride Glow – and its founder in my BEAUTYCALYPSE Brand to Watch series just recently.
The blue glass bottle holds such a precious power blend that I can’t envision my routine without anymore. 28 finest oils, essential oils and plant extracts, rich in antioxidants, vitamins, essential fatty acids work together, creating a wonderfully synergetic product that can be used for any beauty need: aromatherapy, replumping thin skin, nourishing dry skin, balancing dry skin, soothing blemishes and insect stings… You can use it to remove your makeup – or under your makeup – and even to “seal” and finish your makeup. Infinite possibilities!
$45, 60 ml, available at Telluride Glow or Amazon.com (for international shipping).
Or just win it, but all in due time 😉

Enriched with hyaluron, the Skin Glow Complex in a bottle sounds like a fantastic gift idea. Who doesn’t wanna have that coveted glow? And I’m such a fan of o’gaenics – a new natural supplements brand from Hamburg, Germany. Eco-ethical production, pure plant-based ingredients, fully vegan and definitely efficient products plus a stellar nutritionist’s blog (German only, sorry friends!) – expect a more detailed review soon.
Skin Glow Complex, starting at €29.90, o’gaenics online shop.

    • It’s not a newsletter though – just sweet, short, single post alerts! Would you prefer a newsletter? 🤔

      • Sorry I put that wrong. I wouldn’t need a particular newsletter. As you cover everything in your blog what would it be about?

        • It would replace the alerts – and recap all the latest posts in one mail. But I’m not quite sure yet if I like the idea. Or if it’s better for readers. What do you think?

  1. oh dear I commented with the wrong email! my comment was about going gift-free 🙂 also am following with the insta handle: deenieeeeee

  2. I decided to go gift-free a few years ago, and the stress has been greatly reduced! Now I stick with writing cards, or if I spot something really appropriate, I’ll get it and gift it asap, instead of having to search for gifts. 🙂

    • This is a clever solution when everybody has everything they need anyway. Good for you! I like to pick my ethical favourites that are matching the giftee’s needs or interests to bring them to the green side… We, too, have cookies! 😀 Haha!

  3. Christmas is not my favourite time of year and I’m a last second shopper because i like to stress myself out! I saw that gorgeous Susanne Kaufmann calender recently – I would struggle giving it away haha!
fab giveaway – the Apline Pure oil sounds perfect for winter skin pampering.

    • Ha, the Kaufmann calendar is also quite pricey, so it must be a very special recipient amirite? 😉 The Alpine Pure Oil is incredible and so rich without being overpowering

  4. Christmas giveway yeaaaahhh ! I’m slowly getting started with the product independent skincare for a beautiful skin (which one the best gift I could offer myself) buut this oil… it does seems like a nice complement ❤

    • Isn’t it lovely to not depend on things? So you’re definitely on to something great here, making your life easier and happier, Laura! 🙂 And yes, nothing against having a few versatile options to pick from if you need to. Right now for instance I’ve used Alpine Pure Oil to moisturise my hair lenghts (the scarf weather is stressing them out). <3<3<3

    • Thank you! Yes, I think this set is just great – you can use the travel size for yourself or to gift to someone you know will love it 🙂

  5. Thank you for your gift ideas, Christmas is my favorite time of year (and I’m no longer a child), and always try to live as I was pleased anyone 🙂

    • You’re welcome 🙂 I love the festive vibes but I don’t enjoy the commercial razzle-dazzle in the shops and in the media that much

    • Awww. I think it looks like a jazz poster. I definitely feel the jazzy vibes. Maybe it’s the hat! 😀

        • Awww. And it’s going to be pretty cool because I want to share destinations for all continents — for less flight miles, you know 🙂

  6. What a beautiful giveaway. And your list is making me feel a bit more cheerful about Christmas, a time of year I mostly dread. I love, love, the Advent calendar idea.

    • I dread the unhealthy focus: it’s building up merrymaking, and overnight it’s just plain winter again. So for me, it’s going to be a December full of relaxed activities and planning the next year. What is your Xmas pet peeve? 🙂
