Whether you love summer or adore autumn, be inspired by this very cute, easy and flattering cool-and-warm look that comes with an eccentric little extra.
With face jewels, very edgy graphic eyeliners and (fairy ubiquitous) Harley Quinn make-up tutorials gaining momentum this year, my wish for edgy make-up becoming acceptable is finally coming true.
My Signature look is created with the summer-autumn transition in mind – last heatwaves meet first rainy days – it is inspired by the Indian summer colours cheering up the day among the prevailing cool, blue-laced shades of early September evenings.
I’ve picked cool baby blue, emerald green, cool brown, neutral nude for eyes and nails, and warm gold and coral-touched nude for cheeks and lips. It’s also a way to make very warm colours (here: golden highlighter) work for a very cool complexion.
The look is super easy to achieve! Blue colour on the inner corners of the eyes, grey-brown colour on the crease, green khol pencil on the lower lashline. The Sante and Zao pencils I use blend like a dream and have a very modern, semi-metallic, semi-transparent shimmer. Fill in the brows and apply mascara. Paint on the beauty mark using an ultra fine liquid eye liner. Lip gloss is worn as tint (simply blot away the gloss, I know, why would you – but I just like the colour and don’t like the gloss texture on a warm day). Bronzing shimmer gel, a very warm, golden shade, is used as blush. Can we stop for a moment to appreciate the sweet dusty pink jersey top by Lillika Eden? ❤
💋 EYES: Eyeshadow Sticks ‘No 8’ (cool silky brown), ‘No 03’ (cool silvery baby blue), Perfect Definition Mascara ‘No 01 Black’, Sante; Eye khol in ‘604 dark green’, Zao [worn as green metallic lipstick here]
💋 BEAUTY MARK: Lash Extension Eyeliner ‘No. 02 black sapphire’, Sante
💋 BROWS: Eyebrow Pencil ‘No 1’, Sante
💋 CHEEKS: limited edition Highlighter ‘Golden Glow’, Sante.
All Sante products are certified organic (Natrue, BDIH), free from conflict palm oil and derivates, albeit unfortunately not all are vegan-friendly due to the use of beeswax.
💋 LIPS: Knutzen Lipgloss in ‘Matte Nude’ worn as tint, und Gretel [glossy swatch and more in my und Gretel range review]
💋 NAILS: Oxygenated Nail Lacquer ‘Simplicity’, Nailberry.
The Nailberry claim is that the 5-free, vegan-friendly and cruelty-free polish is “breathable”, and I was very, very curious to try.
