Rose Gold: My NYE 2015 Signature Looks {Beauty Look Post #4}

The masquerade begins! Two looks celebrating the sensual beauty of pink gold – THE colour of a new dawn – with 100% mineral & organic make-up products.

As you remember, my Signature Looks are my way to celebrate seasonal beauty ignoring the fashion mandate. Why should a beauty brand dictate how we look, right? And just like a capsule wardrobe, which is too much fun to put together each new season, the Signature Look is good fun – with lipsticks and mascara! 😉 It’s sensible too, because it enables you to dig out long forgotten beauty treasures. (And if you followed my Skincare Calendar, hopefully with no unpleasant shelf life surprises!)

And why ROSE GOLD, you might ask? Simply because rose gold is one of my ❤ favourite precious metals ❤ (the other being blackened silver) for its very peculiar, sensual warmth, recreated here in a very classic winged eyeliner look supported by a plethora of shimmering, neutral-warm rosy colours. Also such neutral-warm rose shades complement the green colour in my eyes and the quite neutral colour of my complexion the best – maybe you’ll relate with me if silver, gold or copper eye shadow always looked a bit ‘too much’ on you. In that case: Girl, welcome to the Club Rose Gold! 😉

Fake nails and false lashes are probably the two single festive beauty ‘tools’ that aren’t available in clean’n’green yet. But we green beauties can boost the look with a very decent mascara, an eyeliner (infused with eyelash growth serum!) and of course with peelable water-based nail polish.

Now let’s see if you like this festive look as much as I do! Here goes…

MY NYE 2015

Pai Skincare Lotus & Orange Blossom BioAffinity Skin Tonic and Chamomile & Rosehip Calming Day Cream (4).
Inika Mineral Setting Powder blended with Alva Coleur golden pigment in ‘Sparkling Harmony’ (3) to achieve a lovely dewy effect.
My oldie but goldie Everyday Minerals Jojoba Base in ‘Light N2″ is blended with ‘Nude’ (the latter is almost a bronzer for my complexion) to warm it up (2).
Alima Pure Matte Mineral Eyeshadow in ‘Raven’ (5) to deepen the eye brow colour and to shape the eye by redefining the crease.
The Lily Lolo pressed eye shadow in ‘Ivory Tower’ – a buttery soft ivory yellow with a subtle satin-like shimmer – is dusted all over the upper and lower lid as a base colour to even out the tone. The brow bone and the very top of the cheekbone are highlighted with Everyday Minerals Lucent Powder in ‘Wet Sand’ (6.)
Zao Beauty in ‘sand-gold 105’, a warm, golden peachy beige warms up the colour on the lid; the matte crease colour (Alima ‘Raven’, above) is blended out with PHB Ethical Beauty Mineral Eyeshadow in ‘Café au Lait’, a light, dusty mauve-beige with a satin finish (7).
Traced very very gently with Benecos Natural Kajal in ‘White’ – thankfully it’s more of a chamoix/ beige colour; pure white would be too harsh for this look (9).
LOWER EYELID (solid colour) & UPPER LID (shimmer effect):
PHB Ethical Beauty Mineral Eyeshadow in ‘Pink Sand’, a gorrrrrgeous shimmering and sparkling rose gold shade – for the swatch see below. On the lower lid, the colour defines the angle of the future eyeliner.
On the upper lid, the pigment is only gently ‘pressed’ or ‘dusted’ all over with a very fluffy eye shadow brush for an overall razzle-dazzle effect (8).
Sante Naturkosmetik Lash Extension Eyeliner in ‘No 2 Black Sapphire’ (10) is this summer’s beauty find for me!
Insanely saturated, blue-black, with a rich shimmer, a perfectly balanced texture (very liquid but not runny, sets quickly and stays put for the whole day). The company promises some eye lash growth but I seriously don’t care. It’s tox-free, it’s cruelty-free, it’s gorgeous. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY, SANTE NATURKOSMETIK!
The angle of the eyeliner rhimes with the angle of the pink gold eye shadow on the lower lid.
My darling treasure, und Gretel WINT Mascara in ‘Chestnut’. Find it swatched here.
Since the entire look is very blended, tone on tone rosy, neutral-warm, the defined eye needs a partner in crime – the well-defined pout. I use PHB Ethical Beauty Natural & Organic Lip Liner in ‘Nude’ (12) a perfect match for my und Gretel Lip Gloss KNUTZEN in ‘Matte Nude’ (1)party-look-one-update

MY NYE 2015

What’s a NYE party without a masquerade? 🙂
Just to confuse all the bad spirits, you know…

My inner Goth Gal rejoiced at the sight of these Christmas presents – Wolford ‘Tiara’ Body, a (BlueSign-certified) dream in exciting transparency laced with black Swarovski crystals, and a metal mask. However, the tender rosy Pink Gold beauty look would disappear behind this dark fairy gorgeousness. Rose gold? Aren’t jewels the most obvious choice?

This look is an ‘upgrade’ to the first one – here the eye make-up is done with mineral pigments in jewel tones, framed by the black sapphire eyeliner (as above) and an even bolder wash of the rose gold shimmer. To intensify the colour payoff and extend the wear, I use a flat concealer brush dipped in water.
1. Deep amethyst purple: Bellapierre ‘Varooka’ pigment
2. Tanzanite blue: PHB Ethical Beauty Natural & Organic Lip Liner in ‘Midnight’
3. Emerald green: Alva Coleur ‘Atlantis’
4. Pink gold: PHB Ethical Beauty Mineral Eyeshadow in ‘Pink Sand’

And now: out with the old (thank you, 2015, for all your gifts and challenges), in with the new! Here’s to a happy healthy peaceful and graceful 2016 for all of us!

  1. Oh I love your rose gold look. I have inherited several rose-gold pieces of jewellery, which, of course, I love. A rose-gold makeover for me might look good.
