There’s a plethora of aluminium-free deodorants competing with conventional antiperspirants out there. But we’re chasing the best, aren’t we? 😉
The Search for the PERFECT Natural Deo:
How It Went So Far
I wrote about truly well-performing natural deos earlier (for example, here or here) and mentioned several recipes for making your own, clean, fail-safe deodorant, because you can DIY you own deodorant as nontox as you want it to be by using only the best and cleanest quality ingredients: coconut oil; baking soda; arrow root starch – and optionally a mix of your favourite essential oils.
However, the of the best-performing favourites had a few tiny flaws. For instance, Wolkenseifen is stingy on freshly shaved armpits + too white against skin which makes it completely unwearable in summer or with black tops, and, while rather invisible, Green Love is claggy: rather tricky to apply. So when my triathlete friend Din mentioned a new fave deo of hers, I was all ears! After a quick ingredient check, I gave Soapwalla Deodorant Cream a try.

Review: Soapwalla Deodorant Cream
So far this is the best natural deodorant I’ve ever tried!
The texture of this deo cream is amazing: beautifully soft and silky, almost invisible against skin, and absolutely NOT irritating on shaved skin. The unisex scent is herbal and tangy but it doesn’t really stick – sport your fave Eau all you want. And it delivers – on par with antiperspirants, Adventurers!
The only downside is the essential oil blend that can be unsuitable for allergy sufferers. Also, essential oils have skin sensitisation potential = you can become allergic if you overuse them. How much is overuse? Completely individual… As I always say, know yourself, it’s the recipe for happiness!
So what’s my trick? Rotating products.
Sometimes I’ll use an unscented deodorant, sometimes I rotate the scents. So far, neither me nor the SO have experienced any problems, and we’ve been using this sort of deo formula since 2011.LINK LOVE:

Glad you like it. I need to get another one as well. I think after a year it just will last for some more hot summer days (if they come…). Beside the texture and that it is not white I really enjoy the soft scent.
I love it! Thanks again for recommending. It’s definitely the best in the moment. I think if they’d offer an unscented version, I’d go for that as well.
Looks good. 🙂 I don’t know if it’s age or my home -based lifestyle but I don’t seem to need deodorant as much as I used to.
I don’t need it all the time, either 😉
But I’m so grateful this type of formula is available. Whenever I tried to kick out my “48 hours antiperspirant” in the past, I only found all natural alternatives absolutely NOT impressive, to say the least.
Thank you! This is so helpful!
I sure hope it is 🙂 Thanks for your lovely comment
