Greenshowroom Berlin: Beautycalypse Loves

If there’s *one* place to be during the Fashion Week Berlin that suits my Quest perfectly, then it’s clearly the Greenshowroom.

Launched in 2004 and focussing on the high end and luxurious eco fair fashion, the Greenshowroom is THE show where I find BEAUTYCALYPSE-level interestingness: ethics meet aesthetics. And having moved from the posh Adlon to the industrial Postbahnhof this January, they also seem to have broadened their area of expertise. Look for yourself: compared to my last season’s overall five perfectly green, fair and fabulous fashion finds (you’ve seen Amalena along with a few other fashion basic favourites already), this season yielded fourteen brands I was interested in, among them two that I already knew and five new brands that I absolutely adored.BC-loot-greenshowroom-january-2015There’s beautifully sophisticated feminine fashion from Madrid and Berlin (from the 2014 show), mesmerisingly delicate ethical jewellery from Brazil, cosy and luxurious homewear, artsy bio cotton carrés from Paris and – incredible for anyone who knows why – two absolutely dresscode-compliant eco-ethical business wear brands from Germany. So brace yourself, Adventurer! 🙂 There’s a lot (for me) to research and a lot (for you) to discover! If you wanna dig deeper, here’s my 2013 interview with the Greenshowroom founder.greenshowroom-beautycalypse

Now I’d love to hear your thoughts on Eco Fair fashion: do you find it accessible via retail or online shops? Do you understand the most relevant certifications? Briefly – what do you know, where do you struggle, and what would you love to know?

I don’t know too much about the relevant certifications and think thats a really interesting topic. What I generally miss with ‘eco fashion’ is a selection of different styles and affordable brands. Either you find very boring clothes or maybe a cool t-shirt, but I have yet to find brands that I really love.
I am looking forward to hear more from the Greenshowroom… Maybe I will find some new favourites?
