Is it just me or does summer wind down? I really *love* the first, delicate signs of autumn, and today’s clean & fab eye product will be ideal for colder days ahead.
I have bought this, my first ever rms beauty eye shadow or, as the company calls it, cream eye polish in Magnetic earlier in spring/summer out of curiosity and was quite excited. Why? Because ever since I had switched to pure mineral powders or baked, talc-free formulas, I have also obviously stopped using cream formulas: they’re really hard to put together with a free-from recipe that delivers. But during warmer days, I almost hated my new €28-purchase: the wax- and coconut oil based formula was constantly slipping away and looking just greasy and blotchy. I have put it aside for when the mercury would fall under the mark of +25°C, and this time is NOW! With about +20°C, Berlin is summery but fresh, and I can’t say I don’t enjoy it after the insane heat wave that we’ve had throughout July.

Made in the USA.The best part:
The water-free formula is ideal for autumn (fall) and winter days as it will nourish and protect the sensitive skin area!
Radiant Glow For Dry Skin
The cream eye polish is great for dry skin and eyelids that start to look somewhat tired.Even minuscule amounts provide a quite notable, glowy shimmer with a hint of colour that looks just great and healthy – unless you have really oily skin. In that case you’ll look really aged, so provide a little powdery finish – or abstain altogether.
The Perk: Super-Easy to Touch Up
The way to a really beautifying effect is – don’t go heavy on the product. Tiniest amounts suffice. Use your fingers to apply, and maybe a wet cotton tip to get a more defined, “lifted” outer edge. The more product you add, the sooner it slips into the crease.Which isn’t the end BTW, because the product is really easy to fix: just put your (clean!) fingertips onto the crease, let “melt” again, and blend it back into place. This is so easy to touch up, it even works without a mirror.
Magnetic Review/ Worn
On the rms website, the colour is described as:
Magnetic: Our biggest seller is this taupe/silver shadow with a hint of mauve.”
On my skin, the colour looks warmer than the silvery taupe promised, more like a purplish brown (close to when I get a bruise) with a cool metallic shimmer that makes the green of my eyes really stand out – without any perceivable violet tone which is BTW just mega-obvious. Neat!
Since this product is not designed for perfect lines, I prefer to create a smoky, grungy make-up with this particular shade.
Pairing it with just one more colour creates this easy-to-maintain and beautifying look: I add a sublime, not too yellow, rather “nude” gold by alva couleur (that you can spot in my Signature Summer Look) and enjoy the play with textures (dry vs. silky), different radiant finishes (oil/wax gloss vs. mineral shimmer) and “my colours just better” shades of a purplish brown and a bright, golden nude.
